Servicing a niche market, Zephyr’s success was dependent on identifying and targeting the right audience. Where the Zephyr website only had one landing page with limited optimization, one of our key challenges was going to create content for the variety of relevant keywords we identified. Additionally, their website, particularly the mobile version, had performance issues such as slow load times. These complications hindered user experience and led to lower conversion rates than desired.
Given the innovative nature of Zephyr’s product, identifying relevant keywords was paramount for our initial PPC and SEO efforts. Our keyword list was developed to capture relevant audiences at various points in the buying cycle, and to drive the highest quality of traffic. With this keyword list, our PPC strategy utilized a $50 cost per acquisition to ensure a positive ROI. Paid Social Media and Remarketing were used to reinforce brand recognition. On the website itself, Content and CRO were our main focuses. We created a variety of different content elements, including blog posts, infographics, landing pages, and videos. Used in a variety of different ways on and off the website, this content helped us to engage with the broadest possible audience. For CRO, we utilized heat map tracking, testing of landing pages, web analytics, and more to ensure the best possible user experience on the website.
Zephyr’s starting point gave significant opportunities for improvement and growth. As an initial effort to drive revenue, our Paid Search efforts quickly hit $3000 in monthly revenue. As our targeting and messaging became more refined over the following months, paid revenue continued to grow, peaking at just over $6,600 per month. Our organic efforts over this time period also yielded incredible results. In our first 8 months, monthly organic traffic increased by 1,718%. Additionally, we saw the traffic become more engaged, with time on site increasing by 149%, and the bounce rate drop from 53% to 46%. All these improvements lead to an organic monthly revenue of just over the $10,000 mark from 62 transactions, compared to no transactions before we began services.
