Web Development

Website Prototyping, UX/UI, & Development

Modern Web Development has become increasingly sophisticated, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a modern website. The web development team at WebTek approaches every project with three major goals in mind: creating a site that is optimized for high search engine visibility and conversion, offering your target audience an exceptional user experience, and making your site aesthetically pleasing and engaging. We have a variety of tools and technologies at our disposal to create engaging, beautiful websites. No matter how big or small your development project is, our team of web developers are ready for the job.

OUR DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Like everything else we do, our development team follows a defined process for creating new sites. It is a process that has withstood the test of time and enables us to achieve the client’s goals on time and on budget. Our seven-step process is as follows:

linea-1

INFORMATION GATHERING

The first step is to make sure we fully understand the need. We do this through information gathering. We seek to understand the client’s business inside and out. We seek to understand the client’s goals, branding, current marketing strategies, target audience, and so forth.

Information is crucial to producing a basic development plan. Without information, any plan amounts to nothing more than a shot in the dark. Our goal in the information gathering stage is to compile as much information as we can to help us formulate a strategic plan that works.

GOAL SETTING

Gathering information leads us to the obvious second step of establishing goals. Goals are both general and specific. General goals dictate how a site is to be used, where it is to be hosted, the audience it is intended to reach, etc. More specific goals cover everything from strategic deadlines to testing methods.

Established goals are meant to be guideposts to keep the project on track. They can be flexible when necessary, but we make it a point to achieve goals on time as often as possible.

BRAINSTORMING

Coming up with the processes and actions to reach established goals is a matter of brainstorming. For example, one of the first goals might be developing wireframes for the first set of pages. Now, how are we going to get those wireframes built and delivered on time?

Brainstorming also covers the various elements we will use to build the site. Our team might brainstorm over graphics, the use of Java, the site’s hierarchy, and so forth. Brainstorming gives us ideas we can work with. It is the impetus for getting the actual work started.

ASSET CREATION

Transitioning from brainstorming into actual design is accomplished through asset creation. Assets are the various components we intend to use on a site. Your company logo is an asset. Text describing what your company is about is another asset. All of the individual pieces that go into the visual presentation of your site are assets that need to be created.

We utilize the talents of skilled graphic designers, writers, and computer programmers to create the necessary assets. As assets are completed, they are plugged into wireframes and the site begins coming to life.

BUILDING

Converting wire frames and assets into workable web pages is where building comes in. In the building stage, experienced programmers write the code that will make the site functional. Visitors will never see the actual code themselves, but without it, what they see on the screen would not be possible. Building is one of the most crucial aspects in that it takes a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill to get it right.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

While coders are hard at work building a site, writers and designers are filling out content. Writers are working on blog posts and informational pages. Designers are putting the finishing touches on graphic images and videos. All of the content will eventually come together once coding is complete.

TESTING

The final step of testing occurs just before the site goes live. Testing is a crucial part of the process in that it exposes both mechanical and aesthetic flaws. Testing ultimately leads to modifications and further testing. We keep testing and modifying until everything is perfect.

Launch follows the conclusion of successful testing. If we have done everything right, the client has a functional, aesthetically pleasing, and productive website that welcomes visitors, informs them, and turns them into paying customers.

OUR DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

The proliferation of content management systems and drag-and-drop site-building tools makes it possible for just about any business owner to build a basic site. But if you look at how those systems are marketed they tend to have one thing in common: they are marketed as being able to help anyone create a ‘professional-looking’ website.

Websites should look like they were professionally designed. However, that only covers what is above the hood. Under the hood are all of the mechanics that make a website function as a marketing tool. Those mechanics underscore why you need professional Web development for your site.

A professionally developed site:

One of the fundamental rules of business states that in order to make money, you have to spend money. We encourage you to include professional web development in your marketing budget. A professional design site from WebTek not only looks beautiful, it functions properly and gets the results you want.

Are you looking to build a site from scratch?

Are you ready

to take your business

to the next level online?
