When MyTee began working with WebTek, they expressed one specific goal; they wanted to improve their visibility and sales for tarps for flatbed trucking. While eventually this focus would expand to include additional trucking products based on market opportunities, it provided WebTek with a clear scope. Our initial website audit signaled several issues hindering their site, including a small backlink profile, slow load times, un-optimized content, few trust signals, and issues in their checkout process. Analytics tracking issues presented an additional complication, making it difficult to establish any historical trend or user patterns for the website.
While some of the onsite adjustments took a bit of lead time to rectify, we were able to get some initial traction through Paid search marketing, or PPC. Also, our offsite efforts to build a diverse and healthy backlink profile were also able to start day one. Building the profile started with citations, and would come to include syndicated content and guest posting among other tactics. During the first few months, we were able to improve site speed by removing unnecessary code, and optimizing other snippets. These updates to the code also allowed us to audit and streamline the checkout process. Content also received revisions and updates, allowing for more interlinking, schema mark-up, and other onsite SEO elements. Finally, trust signals and accreditations were added prominently to the website to help establish trust with MyTee’s audience.
Positive results came in quickly. In our first 2 months, we saw a 182% increase in the number of keywords ranking on the first page, as well as many keywords already on the first page move into top 3 positions. With rankings came traffic, and after only 6 months, we saw a 40% Y/Y improvement in organic traffic. Bounce rate, pages per sessions and session duration all improved during this same time. Most importantly however, were the improvements to conversions. Over our first 6 months, our conversion rate increased by 314%. Combined with increased traffic, our total conversions increased by 435% compared to the previous year.
